Beach Cities Health District, located in Redondo Beach, California, offers internships throughout the year through in the Center for Health & Fitness. Graduates or undergraduates may apply. Candidates must have a degree or be pursuing a degree in exercise physiology, health promotion or similar health related fields. Responsibilities at the Center for Health & Fitness may include assistance in development, implementation and evaluation of wellness programs, participation in community events, fitness assessments, exercise prescription, daily operational tasks within the facility, conducting health fairs, marketing, and promotion. Internships are non-paid with flexible hours, minimum of 10 hours for 12 weeks is required. Current CPR certification is required.

Position: Exercise Physiology Intern
Position Description:
The Duke Health and Fitness Center (DHFC) offers a "hands-on" internship for undergraduate and graduate students in the exercise field. The DHFC is on the campus of the Duke Center for Living, a nationally recognized leader in medically based lifestyle change, disease management, and preventative programs. Our multidisciplinary staff of specialists include exercise physiologists, registered dietitians, massage therapists, health psychologists and physical and respiratory therapists. Students gain practical experience in lyfestyle counseling, exercise prescription, and exercise leadership for a large and diverse population. Specialized program involvement may include cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, clinical testing with our Human Performance Lab, and nutrition programming. Position: Exercise Specialist Interns
Job Description:
At Lake Forest and Lindenhurst Health and Fitness Centers, we are in the business of changing lives. Research shows that our lifestyle habits influence up to 75% of the medical conditions and illnesses we encounter throughout our lives. We strive to increase physical activity and fitness, improve nutrition, reduce the use of tobacco, improve mental health and prevent or reduce the effects of chronic disease. The Lake Forest and Lindenhurst Health and Fitness Centers (HFC) Internship program seeks students enrolled in a health-related with a working knowledge of exercise physiology and kinesiology and a desire to provide excellence in customer service. Students will gain practical experience in program planning and development, fitness assessments, exercise prescription and consultations. Specialized programs include Fitness Management, Program Planning and Marketing, and Clinical/Wellness Programs involving specialized preventative and rehabilitative programs at the fitness centers as well as at Lake Forest Hospital. The internship program offers challenging opportunities for hands-on experiences, building skills and being a part of a professional collaborative team environment. While several “Educational Tracks” are available based upon the students’ career goals, educational emphasis, and past experience, the comprehensive training includes:
• Fitness assessments
• Exercise prescription
• Personal training
• Group focused exercise leadership
• Fitness incentive program design, implementation & evaluation
• Facility supervision

Job Description:
Internships are available throughout the year. Martin Memorial Health & Fitness Centers are looking for highly motivated graduate and undergraduate students for their medical fitness internship program. Students majoring in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or Health Promotion & Education are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities may include fitness assessment administration, leading group exercise classes, exercise prescription for a diverse population, assisting with daily facility operations, program development and implementation, facilitating health education classes and assisting with employee and community health fairs and screenings. Graduate students will also have the option to participate in the employee HRA and disease management programs, as well as assisting with corporate fitness integration with health plan management. Job Description:
HealthWorks Fitness Center, located two blocks east of beautiful historic downtown El Dorado, AR, will begin recruiting for students for internships from major universities and colleges throughout the country specializing in exercise physiology, kinesiology, and athletic training. Experience will be gained in implementation and evaluation of wellness programs, conducting fitness assessments and developing exercise prescriptions, fitness center operations, disease management, cardiac rehab, and physical therapy as well as community program development.
The candidates must be in their last year of study (undergraduate or graduate work) and have a personal letter of recommendation from their department Chairman. Current CPR and First Aid required.
Salary: HFC will be offering qualified candidates free housing (out of area students only), a small stipend, and an opportunity to intern with some of the major healthcare providers in Union County during their stay.

- Conducting fitness tests (assessments, shadowing, exercise supervision) and setting member goals and guidelines according to function and limitations.
- Assist in program planing and designing exercise prescriptions for members using FitLinxx.
