Walter M. Bortz II, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Recognized as one of America’s most distinguished scientific experts on aging and longevity, Dr. Walter Bortz's research has focused on the importance of physical exercise in the promotion of robust aging. Dr. Bortz has written over 130 medical articles for such publications as JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, The New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, and Journal of Biological Chemistry.

Inclusive Fitness Pavilion ~~ NEW!
The Medical Fitness Association welcomes The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD) and Inclusive Fitness Coalition (IFC) as supportes for the Annual Conference. An Inclusive Fitness Pavilion coordinated by NCPAD and IFC will offer a unique exhibit hall feature providing a one-stop shop for advice and guidance regarding inclusive equipment, facility accessibility, staff training and inclusive marketing. This is an opportunity to speak to the NCPAD/IFC team to learn more and view a selection of the latest range of accessible equipment from a variety of equipment suppliers.
Conference Assistant Program
In its ninth year, the Assistant Program provides an opportunity for individuals to attend the conference at a reduced rate while at the same time assisting in the overall success of the event.
Online Syllabus and Complimentary Meeting CD-ROM
This will be one of the most useful items you’ll take home from the conference and will be an invaluable reference to share with colleagues. MFA offers an abbreviated seminar binder containing a detailed conference schedule, and other important facts, to ensure a successful conference experience. In addition, a CD, which contains outlines, articles and supplementary materials from MFA, Athletic Business, and ICAA seminars, will be provided. CDs will be available onsite, but you will be responsible for printing any seminar handouts you need in advance before the event.
