Webinar: Exercise Therapy – An Abuse Survivors Solution

October 2 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Learning Objectives:

Review some of the recovery roadblocks facing abuse victims, and how exercise can help overcome and aid them in the recovery process.

Review programming that can be carefully controlled as “safe” environments for one’s own body to heal.

Review ways to promote more endorphin-raising exercise.

Brief Overview:

With an average of 20 people physically abused by an intimate partner every minute in the US alone, and more than 48% of men and women experiencing at least one physiologically abusive behavior from an intimate partner – the number of abuse victims facing stress, trauma and a long, arduous, seemingly impossible road to recovery is in the millions. Court-appointed classes, shelters and numerous rehab programs address the mental and physical scars, but we believe non-triggering, endorphin-raising exercise is a better, mostly untapped, way to promote the physical and mental healing necessary to actually move forward and live – not simply survive. By bringing specially designed fitness classes (including aspects of exercise, stretching, tai chi, yoga, meditation and spirituality), into carefully controlled “safe” environments, survivors of abuse, PTSD and other highly debilitating situations can learn to tap into their body’s own potential for healing.
