Evidence Based Chronic Disease Tools, Resources and Effective Models

This session will address the need for Medical Fitness Association members to implement wellness programs that achieve effective ROI and measure health outcomes. We will first evaluate assessment tools that measure not only chronic disease risk but also can predict the future risk of an employee population. There are also new evidenced-based assessment tools, developed in academia, that are specific to nutrition, activity, and behavior change that can help support health coaching / intervention program. The presentation will then highlight successful case studies with Abbott, Texas Instruments, and BMW which used these evidenced based assessment tools and incorporated professional staff such as RDs and health coaches to measure outcomes on their employee populations. We will also highlight the importance of health coaching and credentialing as it pertains to effective health outcomes. Finally, a review of management tools Medical Fitness Association Members can use to support internal administration of their wellness programs and measure outcomes.
