New Technology Challenges Theory of Inevitability of Osteoporosis
No Pills, No Potions, No Gimmicks

Presented by Jason Conviser, PhD, FACSM

When we talk about the differences between a traditional fitness center and a Certified Medical Fitness Center members overwhelmingly report RESULTS as one of the most important differentiators between the two "apparently” similar facilities. A traditional fitness center sells memberships. Medical Fitness Centers are designed to provide their members with results!

An opportunity exists for all Medical Fitness Centers to begin providing a results based program to significantly deal with one of the most difficult health care life changing events associated with aging – Osteoporosis.

  • 24% of those with hip fractures over the age of 50 will die within the first year after the fracture.
  • 18% of those with hip fractures over the age of 50 will require nursing home residence
  • Six months after a hip fracture only 15% of those affected will be able to walk unaided
  • The risk of a hip fracture is equivalent to the COMBINED risk of developing breast, uterine and ovarian cancer
  • The costs for osteoporosis related fractures and medications is 22 Billion annually
