"How to Close the 'Loop' in your Pool"
Presented by Wes King, BS
Thursday, August 22, 12:00pm EST
Learning Objectives:
  • The first objective is to provide a clear plan for any Aquatic Department leader to maximize the potential of each aquatic staff member through hiring, training, and on-going education regarding facility and departmental needs and values.  The goal is to present systematic processes for staff training which would include lifeguarding + swim instruction + emergency response action plans = all aquatics staff members able to meet any aquatic need.
  • The second objective is to show the positive impact that a "universally" trained aquatic employee can have on the department and facility.  The impact can be measured in areas such as (but not limited to) budget, membership growth, program/service capabilities and a higher level of understanding of Medical Fitness within Aquatics.
  • The third objective is to identify the current needs of any and all Medical Fitness Aquatic Departments.  This could range from establishing Medical Fitness Association standardized programs (water exercise, learn-to-swim, clinical, etc.) to overall safety and service training.
