Advances in the Treatment of Low Back Pain

The presentation will review current research on the treatment of low back pain from the perspective of the biopsychosocial model. The presentation will also review best practices, tools and exercises to effectively treat and reduce one’s risk of low back pain. Pain neurobiology related to exercise, including (SET - sling exercise therapy), and the psychosocial elements of the client-provider interaction will be discussed through the most recent peer reviewed research.

1. Participants will understand the most recent research on the causes and treatment of low back pain.               
2. Participants will learn the latest evidenced based tools and methods to treat low back pain in their members and clients
3. Participants will learn the role of biomechanics in pain neuroscience including common myths.
