Webinar: Low Weight/High Rep Resistance Training for the Management of Osteoporosis. An Alternative Approach.

October 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Brief Summary
Previous research has demonstrated the value of resistance training in the management of low bone density. However, the traditional prescription (high load – low repetition) is not achievable for many with this condition.

In this session we discuss an alternative prescription which is more accessible to the majority of those with osteopenia / osteoporosis.

3 Learning objectives:

  1. Review the current literature regarding exercise prescription for low bone density.
  2. Discuss research on an alternative low weight – high repetition model.
  3. Review the advantages of a group approach to increase social support and attendance.
