Meet Dan Lynch, FMFA
Dan Lynch has been actively engaged in the development of medical fitness centers since his entry
into the medical fitness business in 1973. Starting in the corporate world at Mobil Oil
Corporation, he has developed centers for Chase Manhattan Bank, HBO and consulted with companies
like American Express, First Chicago, Merrill Lynch and others. Since 1997 he has been exclusively
involved with medically integrated health and fitness centers in partnership with hospital’s and
physicians. During the past 21 years he has worked on over 35 medical fitness centers, providing
services that range from land acquisition, feasibility studies, design/development, marketing,
integration of programing and ongoing operations. Project sizes have ranged from 5,000 SF to
140,000 SF and involve development budgets upward of $40 Million and operating budgets of $10
Million.
He currently runs his VisionBridge consulting business http://www.TheVisionBridge.com and also
serves as Executive Vice President of Fitness Formulary http://www.FitnessFormulary.com
In his professional career he has also been an industry leader in many arenas. In 1978 Dan was the
first Chairman of the American College of Sports Medicine’s Certification Committee to develop the
Health Fitness Instructor® Certification. In 1989 he served as National President of the
Association for Worksite Health Promotion and has Fellowship status. He also served as the Founding
Chair (2006 – 2010) of the Medical Fitness Association’s Facility Certification Committee which
launched its’ Medically Integrated Facility Certification in the Fall of 2008. He is the former
Chair of the Marketing Committee for MFA and currently is again serving on the Facility
Certification Committee and lead the retooling of the certification examination implemented in
2018. Dan maintains Fellowship status in MFA.
Dan has a Bachelor of Science from Manhattan College, Bronx, NY and a Master of Science from Queens
College in the City University of NY. He completed the ACSM certification as a Program Director
and Health/Fitness Director and has a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine from the Kaiser Institute.
Dan has lectured in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Far East on the medically integrated
model. He has also presented at many industry conferences and is the recipient of the 2008 MFA
Board of Director’s Award and in 2015 Manhattan College’s Distinguished Service Award. He is an
avid
golfer and pickleball player and lives in The Villages, FL.
