Meet Jeremy Fritz
Say hi to Jeremy Fritz, Assistant General Manager at Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center in Carlsbad, CA and an Active Wellness employee. He has been with Active Wellness/Tri-City Wellness & Fitness since 2014 and in the fitness industry since 2000. Active Wellness provides quality fitness programs and compassionate, knowledgeable team members who support a diverse range of populations, both general and medical, with their health and fitness goals.
Jeremy completed his undergraduate work towards a degree in Nursing, but due to a back injury, he had to pivot from that. His new focus is to obtain a degree in Public Health with an emphasis on Human Resources Management.
We caught up with Jeremy recently and here’s what he had to say…
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I truly enjoy coming to work and making a positive difference in our member’s and team’s lives every day. I feel my best when I can go home at the end of the day knowing that my team members feel supported and our members are happy with the Center and their overall experiences.
What are you most proud of when you talk about your company?
I’m proud of the team I work with, both at the site level, with our client site Tri-City Medical Center, and throughout Active Wellness. I’ve worked closely with many of the Active Wellness leadership team for years and I consider them to be my extended family. The expertise, support, friendship and guidance I’ve experienced is unlike any other organization I’ve worked at. I will always feel lucky to be a part of Team Active.
From your perspective as a business providing products to the medical fitness industry, what one piece of advice would you give to someone just coming into this field of medical fitness?
Every member and guest is unique, and every program should be a living, breathing project that is open to change and adaptation. Medical knowledge is everything when it comes to delivering the best services to these unique groups and having a sound understanding of the needs of your members in these programs will help them achieve the results they are after.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Admittedly I’m a pretty big nerd at heart – I love Marvel movies and attend San Diego Comic Con during the summers. I love my 3 cats, drawing, and taking walks with Neil, my husband of 11 years, along San Diego Harbor and through the San Diego Zoo. I recently got back into resistance training and also like listening to a wide range of alternative music, too.
Thank you, Jeremy and good luck with that degree!
