The relevance to medical fitness and the best practice models is very tightly aligned

11:30-12:30pm        Outcomes Implementation the Medical Fitness Way!

                              Presented by Lynn Robbins, Chair, MFA Outcomes Committee, St. Mary's, Georgia

In July of this year, MFA launched its outcomes initiative in pilot with 10 centers participating. Be among the first to hear about implementing these outcomes protocols in your center. The Outcomes Committee is planning on opening up the protocols to participation by all MFA members at the conference in November. Learn now what you need to do to prepare.

Frank Phillips is the President and CEO of Golden Seal Enterprises, Inc.—a private security services and training firm in Virginia that for over 20 years has delivered innovative security solutions and services worldwide, to the U.S. government, to U.S. State Department-approved foreign governments, and to distinguished private clients.  Mr. Phillips’s exceptional ethic, drive, and discipline is borne from an 18-year career in the U.S. Navy Special Warfare community as a founding counter-terrorism operator of SEAL TEAM SIX, as a Naval Special Warfare Training Center instructor for BUD/S, and as a member of the U.S. Navy’s Red Cell Naval Security Coordination Team.  Combining his elite military endeavors with another two decades of business leadership and success. Mr. Phillips will discuss what it takes to become a SEAL, leadership within an organization of SEAL’s, transition to the private sector as an entrepreneur, business owner and leader, and what role health and fitness plays in these topics. 


2:00-3:00pm            Creating the Medically Integrated Patient Wellness Factory

            Presented by Jeff Wolfe, Journey to Health Director, Faith Family Medical Center, Nashville,                       Tennessee 

We have discovered through trial and error what it takes to be successful in changing patient behavior in traditionally non-compliant populations. Learn a highly effective way to get patients from the exam room to completing a 10 week behavior change class.  Learn effective strategies to create provider involvement in patient whole body wellness. It takes a village to raise a healthy child, as the saying goes.  For unhealthy adults, the same applies, but whom and what comprises the village?  Learn the effective use of volunteers to successfully aid in patient whole body wellness.  And you will learn about an innovative quarterly program aimed towards improving diabetic patient care.

            Presented by John Caliri, FMFA, Administrative Director, Centers for Health and Fitness,                           FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Pinehurst, North Carolina 

           Learn how to set up effective physician referral programs that meet the needs of patients and                      answer the WIIFM question for the doctors. How not to re-invent the wheel and create an effective                approach to virtually any chronic disease referral.


4:15-5:15pm            Building Physician Relationships

Presented by Bob Brown, MPH, MBA, FMFA, Manager of Heart Wellness Program at Spartanburg Regional, SC, Current SEMFA Chair, Spartanburg, South Carolina 

The audience will understand the importance of clinically integrating Cardiac Rehab into their program and how to build a continuum of care for the patient through inpatient procedure all the way through post rehabilitation. This session will show how outcomes will help improve your physician referral pattern.

Participants will learn to determine which program categories and topics will be most attractive to your members, communicate in several effective ways to introduce your program calendar to members and develop a 12-month calendar of programs that can be implemented immediately
