From Soldier to Survivor: Key Leadership for a Life Changing Event 
Presented by MSG Mark Vomund

Special Forces Green Beret MSG Mark Vomund will discuss the challenges he faces after being wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Further, he will detail the unexpected, yet crucial leadership which continues to help him develop his new identity after over three years of rehabilitation.

Medical Fitness 101: Orientation to Effective Medical Fitness Models

Presented by Doug Ribley, Senior Vice President, Health & Wellness, Akron General Health System, Ohio

Van retired from the Army after 39 years of service and a final assignment as Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers.  He oversaw a $40+ billion program including most of the Nation’s civil works infrastructure and military construction on over 150 Army and Air Force installations and led over 37,000 employees who provided engineering, project management, construction, and operation and maintenance support in nearly 100 countries around the world.
