Meet Amanda Posey
Amanda grew up in Atlanta and has an extensive management, membership and operations background. She received her undergraduate degree in 1996 from Georgia State University. She is an engaged and enthusiastic manager with almost thirty years’ experience in developing strong relationships with customers, members, patients and staff. She is truly passionate about wellness and fitness management, as well as employee wellness programming.
Amanda worked with the metro Atlanta YMCAs for 20 years in Membership, Marketing, Operations, Wellness and Group Fitness and still continues to volunteer her time for this organization she loves. She then moved on to work for Zoo Atlanta as the Director of Membership and Sales for four years. She joined DeKalb Medical in 2014 as the Director over the Wellness Center and Heart Wellness departments.
Amanda has been an active member of the Medical Fitness Association since 2014. She currently serves as Georgia State Captain, Membership Committee Chair, and Region Committee member. Most recently, under her leadership, DeKalb Medical’s Wellness Center achieved MFA (Medical Fitness Association) facility certification, the first in Georgia to be recognized with this designation.
Amanda enjoys being around the Wellness Center members and seeing them achieve their fitness goals. The members are why she loves the work she is fortunate enough to do every day. In her personal time, she loves sports especially football (Go Falcons!), working out and reading a good book. The perfect day for Amanda would be a day on the beach with a good book and a margarita. Amanda adores her three sons; Brendan, Zachary and Wesley. She loves spending her time with her boys and feels blessed to be able to watch them grow up to be incredible young men.
