Meet Monica Green, B.S.
Say hi to Monica Green, the Field Medical Integration Manager at Northwestern Medicine – Delnor Health & Fitness Center in Geneva, IL. Monica has been at Northwestern Medicine for six years. She holds a BS in Kinesiology (Preventative and Rehabilitative Exercise Science).
Monica is also the Central Region’s 2019 Rising Star! The Regional Rising Star Award program recognizes outstanding individual achievement and significant leadership within the medical fitness community.
We caught up with Monica recently and here is what she had to say.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Learning from and collaborating with other professionals to better serve the population we work with through education and exercise. Knowing I have helped someone improve their lives through exercise really makes me excited to keep going! There’s no better feeling than knowing someone can get down on the floor and play with their grandbabies and get back up again because of the exercises we have done.
What one piece of advice would you give to those just coming into this field of medical fitness?
This field is growing rapidly and there is so much room for growth! Medical fitness is the future and we can make a difference!
What did your facility gain by becoming certified by the Medical Fitness Association?
I think we gained the pride in knowing we offer a higher standard of fitness center and client care. The members feel safe and comfortable here and the physicians trust us to work with their patients because we have open lines of communication to provide the best possible continuum of care for each person who walks through our doors.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Work doesn’t ever end – my title just changes from manager to mom =) my husband and I have a 3.5-year-old son and we do as much as we can with him outside playing, riding bikes and playing at the park.
Thank you, Monica and congratulations on your Central Region Rising Star Award!
