Meet Rance Bryant
Say hi to Rance Bryant! Rance is the Director of Riverside Health System’s Wellness and Fitness Centers at both the Peninsula location in Newport News, VA and Middle Peninsula location in Gloucester, VA. He has been there for one year. Previously, Rance spent 10 years at the Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center in Arkansas.
Rance earned his MS degree in Exercise Science from Arkansas State University. Rance is also an active member of the MFA Membership Committee (thank you, Rance!).
We caught up with Rance recently and here’s what he had to say.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The most rewarding part of my job is to watch great outcomes provided by our members and to hear their stories. Also, the relationships that I developed with communities in which I have been a part of will last a life time.
What advice would you give those just coming into this field of medical fitness?
Stay connected with your peers and get involved with the MFA. I feel like attending the MFA regional and annual conferences are so valuable due to ability to network with individuals. Networking is so important in the industry. Also, educate your community on the Medical Fitness difference.
Why did your facility become a member of the the Medical Fitness Association?
The MFA provides great resources to its members. The MFA has education materials for the entire staff to stay up to date regarding recent trends in the industry. As we have seen recently, the MFA has been instrumental in helping facilities relaunching from being temporarily closed from COVID-19.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My wife and I enjoy staying active outdoors. From cycling, fishing, golfing, hiking and going to the beach, Virginia has plenty to offer year around!
Thank you, Rance and glad to hear you enjoy your new home state!
