Meet Sarah Strefling
I have been with Beacon Health & Fitness for 14 years and have loved most minutes of it. J I graduated with my degree in Exercise Science and ACSM Personal Training, and really found my passion in working with individuals one-on-one and in groups that have something in common. Socializing is something I love to do, and found a great heart for those patients going through Oncology treatments. After about 4 years with Beacon Health & Fitness I was offered to go to a training in Colorado to receive training to work with Oncology Patients. We started a Cancer Fitness Program in 2010 and my passion for these special group, with common diagnosis, really tugged on my heart!
After 14 years we have now grown our Best Medicine programs for members with Arthritis, Parkinson’s, Peripheral Artery Disease, Down syndrome and the list keeps growing. I love seeing these groups improve their overall quality of life and the camaraderie of the group is amazing.
This is a small part of myself, but my career is something that I have continue to develop myself to be the best me to provide knowledge and expertise to our members and team. I have since completed my Masters, and continue to receive certifications from everything from Leadership, Pilates to Parkinson’s Training. I manage the fitness center, both locations, and personal train 8 clients a week, and continue to run our Cancer Fitness Program.
Outside of BHF I love spending time with my husband and kids on the lake and in the gym. We are a family that loves volleyball!! I coach volleyball, and have done this for 18 years and continue to train athletes in the gym and it’s a true love of mine to see these athletes develop a passion of theirs. J
