Special Olympics International
Organization Overview
Special Olympics International provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Through its health and fitness programming, Special Olympics International provides resources and programming opportunities to support people with intellectual disabilities to participate in fitness programming.
Through the partnership with the Medical Fitness Association, Special Olympics and MFA will provide resources to support MFA facilities and professionals to meet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities. For questions, contact fitness@specialolympics.org.
