As the time approaches to reopen our fitness facilities, it brings a wide variety of considerations. We won’t simply reopen to business as usual. These are uncharted waters but, as an Association, we can navigate them together!

These guidelines were submitted to the Centers for Disease Control and reviewed by their subject matter experts. They have indicated that our recommended approach is both safe and comprehensive. In some cases, it goes beyond the CDC recommendations, but they were pleased by our overall approach.

Re-Opening Playbook from Daxko, the parent company to Club Automation Daxko, the parent company to Club Automation, recently gathered distinguished panels of medical experts and industry leaders from boutique, club, and nonprofit facilities to discuss re-opening and operating safely in the new COVID reality. Jamy McGee and her team, including Eliza Evans-Youth Fitness Coordinator and Paula Keck-Fitness Program Manager, put together a challenge for their members. They created a “Spring into Wellness” bingo card challenge with one for adults and another for youth. After just one email out to their membership, they had over 300 people sign up in 24 hours! Here are a couple ideas for disclaimer that others are using. Please check with your health system’s legal counsel to see if they have a specific disclaimer for your facility.

Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. Consult with your healthcare professional to design an appropriate exercise prescription. If you experience any pain or difficulty with these exercises, stop and consult your healthcare provider.
