Meet Deb Riggs, FMFA
Deb has served as Director of the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion for the past 22 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Loyola University of New Orleans and a Masters of Education from Ohio University. She has served in the fitness and health industry for 40 years in multiple capacities. She has been employed with TriHealth for 28 years; involved initially in corporate fitness. In 1992, she became the project manager for the start-up of the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion – the country’s 1st Certified Medical Fitness Center.
Opened in January 1997, the multiple award-winning 110,000 square foot TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion remains a pioneer in offering medically based fitness to Greater Cincinnati. It’s a premier health facility that continues to set the standard for disease prevention, exercise, rehabilitation and health education. The center brings together a full range of medically sound equipment and programs as well as credentialed health and fitness professionals from TriHealth hospitals. Expert guidance from professional personnel, innovative health enhancement programs and the integration of medical, rehabilitative, holistic and fitness services all are delivered in a clean, safe, service-oriented environment. The Pavilion has maintained Net Promoter Scores above 80% for several years and is known for its excellent customer service, friendly staff and quality services.
Deb has earned distinction as a MFA Fellow, served on the MFA Board of Directors for 6 years, hosted the MFA Central Regional conference, participated on the Certification Committee for multiple years and is a Facility Certification Lead Examiner. In 2017, Deb received the Medical Fitness Association’s “Director of the Year” award as well as the Association’s highest award, the “Hank Boerner Pioneer Award” for significantly advancing the medical fitness industry through her service to the industry and the association.
Deb has 2 children, Lisa and Dan, and 2 darling grandsons, Brayden (6) and Mason (2). Besides managing the TriHealth Pavilion, Deb enjoys singing in her church Women’s Ensemble, walking outdoors, yoga and boot camp classes, and vacationing with family particularly at the beach. She’s an avid sports fan and is patiently waiting for a home team Bengal’s Super Bowl or Red’s World Series win!
