Meet Jamie Semien
With a relentless passion for fitness and health, Jamie Semien has propelled herself to the forefront of the Southern Louisiana fitness industry. While attending high school in the region, she was a decorated student athlete and her passion for fitness drove her to the Kinesiology Department of Louisiana State University where she earned her undergraduate degree. She spent time volunteering during her university education striving to improve child development and learn how to deliver human touch in the clinical setting. Jamie is truly passionate about health, the human body and the ability to utilize science to better those around her.
Respected for her humble character and genuine compassion for each individual she works with, Jamie strives to exemplify what it means to be a well-rounded leader and contributor to the fitness industry. Jamie is an ambassador for member centered excellence shown through her passion as a fitness professional who is dedicated to helping others achieve their goals in fitness where it be prevention and promotion or recovery.
Following Jamie’s Bachelor’s education at Louisiana State University, Jamie sought to better understand leadership and further her career with a Master’s in Health Administration. She has applied her education to 10+ years in the fitness industry while sitting on the Pennington’s Committee for Women’s Health, participating in Path to Excellence Leadership Development Program, and gaining certifications with the Medical Fitness Association, Idea Fitness Association, and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
Serving on the Pennington Planning Committee Board for Women’s Health, Jamie assisted yearly to improve the health and wellness for women of the region by developing and leading the day long wellness event held yearly in Baton Rouge. Additional memberships include: Path to Excellence Leadership Development Program, Medical Fitness Association Membership, Idea Fitness Association Membership, and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certification. Jamie was a 2017 recipient of the Best of Lafourche Excellence in Healthcare award as well as the 2017 recipient of the Marla Richmond award in Medical Fitness Association
As a fitness professional, Jamie’s efforts and leadership is changing the face of fitness and personal training in Lafourche Parish with the 2016 launch of the Medically Integrated Fitness Center of Thibodaux Regional; a fully integrated exercise, nutrition and medicine program, the only of its kind in Louisiana. With a team of elite trainers and providers who service the patients of our region, Jamie and the team of health professionals at Thibodaux Regional Wellness Center are working tirelessly to make preventative health care a priority for Lafourche Parish and surrounding neighbors.
