Jodee McCarty MS, ACE, CPTA
Say hi to Jodee McCarty, the Group Fitness and Aquatic Manager at The Center for Health Improvement at Hays Medical in Hays, KS. The Center for Health Improvement just successfully completed their third MFA facility certification! Kudos!!
Jodee has been with The Center for Health Improvement for 19 years. She has a BS in Exercise Science, an MS in Exercise Physiology, and is an AS Certified Physical Therapist Assistant.
We caught up with Jodee recently and here’s what she had to say…
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love meeting new members and helping members find ways to function in their daily lives and become stronger and healthier. I enjoy daily interactions with members and hearing about how our facility has impacted or changed their life.
What led you to choose this field?
I am passionate about exercise, group fitness in all forms and the benefits of the aquatic environment. Every day I witness members who have had their lives changed by each of these modalities, whether it is functional strength, movement, pain management, or simply relaxation.
Why did you become a member of the Medical Fitness Association?
When our facility was built and created it was always with the intention of becoming a medical fitness center. Our CEO at the time visited a medical fitness facility like ours in another location and returned with the vision of providing this type of facility to our community and region.
What did your facility gain by becoming certified by the Medical Fitness Association?
I think our facility has benefited a great deal by becoming a certified medical fitness facility, but the greatest gain has been by our community and region. By having access to the various clinical programs, Physical rehabilitation, post rehab, cardiac rehab and fitness programs all in one location, our community has been given the opportunity to grow in health and wellness. Our core purpose at The Center has always been to help people “Get Well Sooner and Stay Well Longer”.
Thank you, Jodee, for positively impacting so many in your community!
