Meet Mallory Lefler
Say hi to Mallory Lefler, American Council on Exercise (ACE), ACE Functional Training Specialist, ACE Level 1, 2, 3 Diabetes Trainer. Mallory is the Fitness Coordinator at Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center in Conway, AR. She has been with the Center for 15 years.
Mallory received her Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Exercise Science from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA).
Mallory is also the 2020 recipient of the South Central Region’s Rising Star award (way to go, Mallory!). If she looks familiar…perhaps you saw her on “Good Morning Arkansas” where she created a series of weekly fitness challenges!
We caught up with Mallory recently and here’s what she had to say.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love being able to be a part of our members’ and patients’ fitness journeys. Helping and watching them reach their health and fitness goals is an amazing experience.
What has been your favorite initiative at the Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center?
My favorite health initiative is our Kids Run Arkansas event. This event encourages kids to get active and run/walk a mile or 3 miles. We have given away over $35,000 in the last 5 years to local school’s physical education programs. Physical Education teachers can purchase supplies for their school’s PE programs.
What led you to choose this field?
Staying active and healthy has always been important. I was a collegiate athlete (Track and Field Team at UCA) so running, exercising and reaching goals have always been instilled in me. I choose this field because I want to help others reach their goals and to understand that you can do that while enjoying exercising and having fun along the way.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spending time with my family! My husband and I have a 6-year-old daughter and 1-year old identical twin boys. We enjoy being outside and staying active. You can usually find me running or doing high intensity interval training workouts! I was a sprinter in college but I have now found a love for running 5ks, 10ks and even half-marathons!
Thank you, Mallory, for keeping kids active and helping school PE programs!
